Volunteer with LGNC
Lehigh Gap Nature Center has a rich history of volunteerism. Simply put, without volunteer support, our organization would not exist and could not possibly do all that we do! We invite you to join one of our five active volunteer groups or inquire about other volunteer opportunities with LGNC.
How to Volunteer
We will work with you to find a volunteer role that best fits your interests and goals! Please fill out our volunteer application form below:
Education Team
Do you enjoy…sharing your love of nature, science, or history with others? As an Education Team volunteer, you can teach and inspire people of all ages!
Responsible for:

- Leading or assisting with school field trip activities
- Supporting public outreach events at LGNC
- Representing LGNC at offsite tabling events
Time Commitment
1-8 hour programs and events, primarily spring through fall
Garden Group
Do you enjoy…gardening or working outdoors? As a Garden Group volunteer, you can contribute these skills toward LGNC’s ongoing conservation efforts!!
Responsible for:

- Maintaining native habitat gardens
- Assisting with other garden-related activities
Time Commitment
1-3 hours/week as available, primarily spring through fall
Hawk Count Team
Do you enjoy…birding or being outdoors? As a Hawk Count Team volunteer, you can be a part of one of the world’s longest continually-running raptor migration studies!
Responsible for:

- Observing migrating birds
- Recording and reporting hawk count data (optional)
Time Commitment
1-8 hour shifts, August 15 through late November
Information Specialist Team
Do you enjoy…interacting with people? As an Information Specialist, you can meet LGNC visitors from across the country and share the unique and inspiring story of our award-winning restoration work!
Responsible for:

- Greeting and providing information to Osprey House visitors
- Processing Osprey House gift shop transactions
- Recording basic visitor information
Time Commitment
3 hour shifts available year-round
Trail Team
Do you enjoy…hiking and working outdoors? As a Trail Team volunteer, you can support the stewardship of one of the region’s top outdoor recreation destinations and America’s first nature center on a Superfund site!
Responsible for:

- Maintaining trails and amenities
- Managing wildlife refuge habitats
Time Commitment
1-6 hour work days, primarily spring through fall
