Discover the history of the Lehigh Gap with this interactive, self-guided tour on our LNE Trail! Look for nine numbered signs on the first mile of the trail, and scan each QR code with your phone to learn more about this unique landscape.

Immersive Virtual Reality Learning Games
Lehigh University, in partnership with LGNC, has developed two virtual reality learning games that immerse users in the fascinating history of the Lehigh Gap. Both games are now available free for desktops and virtual reality headsets.
The Lehigh Gap Story
Take a virtual hike with avatar bird Brownie to learn about the environmental changes that occurred in the Lehigh River Watershed in Pennsylvania during the past two centuries as a result of the zinc smelting plant operation at the Lehigh Gap. Explore a series of 360° photospheres that contain interactive features to learn how a green mountainous ridge was transformed into a barren “moonscape” and how the area has been revitalized today.
Mystery of the Lehigh Gap
Play a series of mini-games as you time travel to 1845, 1853, and 1912 in which you learn about historical mining, transportation, and industrial processes for a zinc smelting plant that converted a pristine landscape with vegetation to a barren moonscape.
