Speaker Series: My Fireflies with Ibiyinka Alao

“My Fireflies: Creating Peacemakers in our World” — Ibiyinka Alao

Description: Join us in person at Lehigh Gap Nature Center for a Speaker Series presentation from Ibiyinka Alao, an artist, author, and the President of the Mauch Chunk Museum.

Fireflies are the official state insect of Pennsylvania, and the Mauch Chunk Museum and Cultural Center celebrates them with the new immersive Firefly Planetarium Experience comprising a light show and the world’s largest painting. The artist, Ibiyinka Alao is the first-place winner of the United Nations International Arts Competition and along with John Lennon, he was named by Global Citizens among 5 artists who have dedicated their work as art ambassadors to peace. Ibiyinka will take us on a journey using the Firefly motif to show how listening to each other, helping each other and looking at the bigger picture are the best ways to live in harmony with nature and life on our planet.
