Weather
Early in 2009, Dr. Bruce Hargreaves of Lehigh University and his students began the process of installing a series of weather stations throughout the refuge to make extensive weather data available for researchers at LGNC. Currently, three stations are actively collecting weather data, one at the Osprey House, and two at the top of the ridge, near the Eastern and Western ends of ridge in the refuge. Additional stations throughout the refuge are planned for the future. These stations report data at five minute intervals, including: temperature, relative humidity, dew point, barometric pressure, wind speed and direction, solar radiation, and rainfall (not all sites are currently reporting all of these parameters).
