CANCELED due to inclement weather.

In Celebration of International Migratory Bird Day, the Lehigh Gap Nature Center (LGNC) is hosting a morning bird walk, day-long “Big Sit,” and evening “Moon-watching for Migrants” program.

Schedule of Events:

7:00-9:00 a.m. – Bird Walk Around LGNC. We will start the day with a guided bird/nature walk through the varied habitats of the Lehigh Gap Wildlife Refuge.

7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. – “Big Sit.” Throughout the day, we will count all the birds we can see from a 15-foot-diameter circle. Email chad.schwartz@lgnc.org to volunteer for a shift in the Big Sit.

8:00-9:00 p.m. – “Moon-watching for Migrants” Program. Looking through telescopes, we will watch nocturnal migrants fly past the waning gibbous moon. Date may change depending on the weather. For more information about any of the above events, please contact chad.schwartz@lgnc.org.

To volunteer to help out with the “Big Sit,” contact Chad. For the morning bird walk and moon watching, although these events are free, please register so we know how many people to expect:
