The Lehigh Gap Nature Center is pleased to present a screening of The Messenger in celebration of Earth Day 2017. This event is sponsored by the Wild Bird Center of the Lehigh Valley.

The Messenger is a powerful documentary that explores the ecological and cultural importance of birds, and examines the myriad human threats that are causing their global decline. Like the emblematic ‘canary in a coal mine,’ wild birds serve as indicators of environmental quality. Through 90 minutes of stunning footage, this film effectively communicates the avian world’s important ‘message’ to humanity: that human activities are not merely killing birds, they are damaging the environment on which humans themselves also depend. Please visit the following website for more information about the film: http://messengerfilm.com.
