Interested in gardening for wildlife? Get inspired and informed with practical tips on the best horticultural and ecologically-minded practices — whether you have existing gardens or are looking to create new ones. All registrants will receive a copy of LGNC’s new gardening book, Native Plants for the Small Yard! Schedule:

  • Part 1: Gardening with Native Plants for Year-Round Interest — Friday, February 7, 10:00 a.m. to Noon
  • Part 2: Plant Propagation — Friday, February 14, 10:00 a.m. to Noon
  • Part 3: Garden Management Practices: Weeds! — Friday, February 21, 10:00 a.m. to Noon
  • Part 4: Edible Native Plants in the Landscape — Friday, February 28, 10:00 a.m. to Noon

Topics will include: plant selection/combinations, basic garden design, basic plant propagation, weed identification and management, and how to make your garden a food haven — for you and for wildlife!

Class Registration: This series of four seminars will meet at the Nature Center on each Friday in February. Registration fee covers all seminars and a book: $25 for members, $50 for non-members. Please register online at the following links:

About Liz: Liz is a graduate of Longwood Gardens’ Professional Gardener Training Program and Drexel University, where she earned a B.S. in Environmental Science. She has been working in the agricultural/horticultural field since 2005 and is Landscape Services Supervisor at Edge of the Woods Native Plant Nursery in Orefield, PA. She loves spending time with her daughter, plants, books, and chickens.
