Internships

Since 1999, LGNC has recruited a wildlife biology intern with responsibilities including the daily hawk count at Bake Oven Knob, entry of data from the count on the BirdSource website, and carrying out a research project in conjunction with the interns at nearby Hawk Mountain Sanctuary.   The hawk count intern position is available each autumn from August 15 through the end of November, and announcements and position descriptions for the position will appear here.

Other internship programs can be designed as a cooperative project between a college, student and the Lehigh Gap Nature Center.  Opportunities for other internship opportunities include activities such as wildlife research, environmental education, library work and bibliographical research, and website design.
