Earth Day Celebration

On Saturday, April 21 Lehigh Gap Nature Center is celebrating Earth Day with a series of programs and events. There will be a bird walk, a habitat gardening session, activities for families and children, and the region’s only showing of a new documentary film about conservation icon Aldo Leopold. Here is the schedule for the day.
7:00 a.m. — Bird Walk at LGNC; leader, Bob Hoopes
9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. — Habitat Gardening session. Learn about native plants and habitat gardening by helping with the gardens: leader, Linda Frederick and Liz Stauffer
9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. — Family friendly activities (planting seeds to take home for your garden, creating a nesting ball full of materials for birds to use in building their nests, hands on items such as fur, antlers and bones); leaders, Kathie Romano and Becky Cunfer
11:00 a.m to 12:30 p.m. — Green Fire, a film about conservation icon Aldo Leopold and how his “land ethic” applies to today. The video will be followed by a discussion; leader, Linda Frederick and Dan Kunkle.
